Tech for Good in 2020 – what can we do to fuel the tech for good movement?

Intrigued by ‘tech for good’? Want to find out what the movement, and in particular this London meetup community is all about? Or are you a long-time member looking to see what’s new and get involved again?

As we enter our second decade of tech for good London meetups(!), come along for an introduction to the field, who’s who in the space and where you can find resources/communities/support.

We’ll also have an interactive session looking at our Tech for Good Principles – help us shape and refine a new set to guide the community as it heads into a new decade. And we want to know what you’d like this community to do for you, and how it can (or maybe has already) helped you.

We’ll end with our usual community announcements slot, which is your chance to promote an ask or an offer to the community – be it a job ad, request for prototype testers, plea for volunteers or funding, offer of support, whatever! If you’d like to share yours in advance with the organisers, email us at [masked].

We charge £3 (+VAT) to help manage numbers, which goes towards the cost of running the event. We don’t want this to become a barrier to attendance, so please get in touch via Meetup messages or directly via [masked] if this causes a problem for you. If you need a VAT receipt please email [masked].

We’re finalising details for the venue, but if you’d like to offer us your space for future events, please get in touch!

How to deal with trolls

Trolls interact with your or your organisation’s social media accounts simply to be a nuisance. Here’s how to deal with trolling.

Use Facebook As Your Business Page: How to like, share or comment from your Facebook business page

Facebook used to make it really easy to like, comment and share as if you were acting as your Facebook business or organisation page.
But we’ve been getting lots of questions from clients recently who can no longer access or use this useful Facebook feature.

If you need to act as your page to engage with fans and other pages, Facebook has recently changed this feature. You may also want to see posts from other pages that your business follows, to make it easy to like, follow or comment on their posts, direct to your Facebook page.

Here’s the new way to address both of these challenges.

Pokémon Go: Strategies and examples for charities and nonprofits

Pokémon Go, the augmented reality-infused Pokémon app for iPhone and Android phones, launched last week and has already seen millions of of eager pokémon trainers taking to the streets to try to catch ‘em all. How can charities and non-profits get involved in this latest gaming phenomenon?

How can we help you?

We’d love to hear from you. Send us a message and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
