B Corp Diversity & Inclusion Empower Life Empower has successfully recertified as a B Corp, achieving a 17% increase in our B Impact score, from 105.2 to 123.5. This improvement reflects our commitment to using business as a force for good and demonstrates the progress we’ve made in creating positive social and environmental impact. What being a B Corp means to us Our B Corp certification reinforces our mission to help purpose-led organisations around the world use digital tools to create and communicate positive social and environmental impact. Being a B Corp means we’re held accountable to the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and legal accountability. We use B Corp as a framework that guides the decisions we make, from how we support our team to the clients we choose to work with. With a score of 123.5, we’re performing significantly above the median score of 50.9 for ordinary businesses, demonstrating our genuine commitment to creating positive change. Our recertification journey: Reflection and growth The recertification process provided us with a valuable opportunity to reflect on our progress since becoming a B Corp in 2022. It allowed us to assess our impact honestly, celebrate our achievements, and identify areas where we can do even better. Our 17% score increase didn’t happen overnight. It represents sustained effort across our three core pillars: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Mental Health, and Sustainability. These pillars continue to guide our decision-making and shape how we operate as an agency committed to positive impact. Key achievements since our last assessment Advancing diversity, equity and inclusion We evaluated our first six-week paid internships for two brilliant interns we connected to through 10,000 Black Interns and committed to two 2024 internships through 10,000 Able Interns. These programmes create meaningful opportunities for underrepresented talent whilst bringing fresh perspectives to our team. Our commitment to inclusivity has also been recognised externally. We were named as finalists for ‘The Most Inclusive Agency’ at the Good Agencies Awards and received finalist nominations for three awards at the Shift People Awards across inclusivity and onboarding. We’ve strengthened our mental health policies and support systems, ensuring every team member has access to the resources they need to thrive both personally and professionally. Our continued investment in always-on therapy access, including at evenings and weekends, via Spill is a key support to our team, as well as monthly wellbeing expenses. Driving sustainable digital practices As a digital agency, we recognise our responsibility to create sustainable digital experiences. We’ve focused on building websites and digital tools that not only serve our clients’ missions effectively but do so with minimal environmental impact. This includes optimising for performance, reducing data usage, and helping clients communicate their sustainability efforts more effectively. Impact beyond our walls Our B Corp journey extends far beyond our own operations.
