Job Opportunity: Agency Assistant

Empower are looking for an amazing Agency Assistant to support our established team, working with amazing clients that are changing the world for good.

Due to a run of recent client and project wins, and concurrent growth in team, we’re looking for an Agency  Assistant to support our Directors, clients and team, across the business.

If you have experience helping agencies and teams run smoothly, enjoy building relationships and problem-solving, and would be excited to help Empower’s growing team support amazing for-purpose clients, this is the role for you.

Role summary

  • JOB TITLE: Agency Assistant
  • LOCATION: UK, this is a primarily remote role, but we would like you to attend team coworkings in London monthly, and ideally more often
  • WORKING HOURS: 3 days per week, during Monday-Friday working hours (9am-6pm)
  • SALARY: £29-35,000 pro rata depending on experience
  • START DATE: ASAP

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a positive, proactive, creative, thorough Agency Assistant to join our growing team. Supporting us to deliver amazing work for clients changing the world for good, through excellent daily delivery, and ongoing innovation, across core agency support tasks, in line with Empower’s values.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Directors of Empower, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing regular bookkeeping activities such as invoicing, payments, expenses, procurement, pensions and payroll
  • Supporting HR and recruitment including interviews and shortlisting, contracts, appraisals, meeting booking and agendas, co-working arrangements, gifts and catering, administering and writing up team surveys, taking notes and actions
  • Marketing and admin including newsletter and social media support, administering and writing up client surveys, organising folders and notes, responding to website enquiries, 
  • Innovating around processes and tools that improve Empower’s efficiency and working life for team and clients
  • Supporting the Directors in diary management, ad hoc tasks and at in-person meetings 

Who you are

You are of course incredibly organised, with excellent attention to detail, reliable, flexible, proactive and thorough. A creative thinker, proactive and tech-savvy, you love improving ways of working, and helping everyone’s day run more smoothly.

Positive, enthusiastic, diplomatic and kind, you’re a good listener, calm under pressure and would upload Empower’s values in interactions with clients, team, suppliers and candidates at all times.

Quick to build relationships at all levels, you thrive working in a fast-paced and dynamic team. 

You care about making the world a better place, and would be a natural ambassador for the Empower team.

Preference for remote working and a background in working in agencies a bonus.

What skills and experience you’ll have

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent copywriting, document, calendar and organisation skills
  • Tech-savvy with a passion for tools and processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely well-organised and practical
  • Amazing at slack, Asana, and email communication and inbox management
  • Comfortable working independently on tasks
  • Experience working in an agency environment
  • No degree needed – we’re more interested in your ideas and experience
