She’s also a “wellness warrior”, with a keen interest in mental health and sustainability, and she leads EDI at Empower.With years of invaluable HR and operational experience behind her, Catherine thrives on building positive workplace cultures, and driving innovation across Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, inclusive recruitment and employee wellbeing. With a former career in teaching, she is excellent at bringing out the best in people and helping them learn.Before joining Empower in 2021, Catherine had a very varied career path doing lots of exciting things! Catherine dedicated 10 years of her career to being a primary school teacher, before having children of her own. For the next 5 years, Catherine worked from home and gained extensive experience working at a Virtual Assistant providing executive, business admin and HR support to entrepreneurs and organisations in a wide variety of sectors in the UK and across Europe, including a 3 year tenure at non-profit organisation, Spring Impact.Catherine lives in Leeds and is mum to two young boys who keep her on her toes!
