  • JOB TITLE: Junior Account Director
  • LOCATION: Based in the UK. This is primarily a remote role, with monthly in-person team meetings in London which you will be required to attend, and optional weekly co-working in London with the wider Empower team. 
  • WORKING HOURS: Full-time 40 hours a week (core working hours 10am – 4pm). Flexi working hours and part-time applications (min. 4 days a week) considered.
  • SALARY: £52,000 – £58,000, depending on experience

Due to a run of recent client and project wins, along with our long-standing campaigns for nonprofits and purpose-led clients, we’re looking for a Junior Account Director to lead several of our key client accounts. This role is an ideal next step for someone looking to progress from Account Management.

What you’ll be doing

On every account you’ll be leading an Account Manager, an Account Executive, and often digital specialists. You’ll also be a member of Empower’s Senior Management Team (SMT) helping our Co-Founders shape a sustainable future for Empower: 

  • Client Servicing: You are the ultimate owner of multiple client accounts, profitability and relationships, leading your teams in exemplary client delivery at the highest standard, on time and on budget. You’ll inspire all of Empower to innovate and deliver excellence in client servicing, through your daily work, sharing knowledge, experience and lessons learned, across account delivery, and areas of specialism.

  • People: You line manage and account manage our team, with a values-aligned approach to create environments where our team feel safe, trusted, and can flourish and progress. You work with Empower’s SMT to align our team’s wellbeing with the business and client needs to ensure retained and returning clients. You ensure Empower continues to develop as a values-led, diverse and inclusive business, with people at its heart.

  • New Business and Client Growth: You proactively deliver account growth and renewal for current clients, by developing senior client relationships, keeping a constant eye on opportunities, and ensuring excellent work by your teams. You proactively identify issues ahead of time and provide solutions to avert them. You help drive new business as a process within Empower, along with the Account Directors and Co-Founders, and successfully take new briefs from proposal to pitching, resourcing and onboarding. 

  • Agency Development: You are an active member of the SMT, alongside Empower’s Founders, HR & Operations Manager and other Account Directors. Contributing to business critical issues and opportunities in the short and long-term, ensuring Empower’s strategic growth and development. You are a strategic thinker and innovator, working directly with Empower’s Co-Founder to develop our sustainable, profitable business, excel as a B Corp and create impact for our clients.

  • Implementation: You support and lead your account teams and specialists to high-standard delivery across Empower’s key client services, including: tools, training and transformation, organic social media, content and community management, creative development, paid media, email marketing, search and measurement. You draw on your client and industry experience, team and specialist work, to deliver creative thinking, and innovative bespoke pathways to exceed client requirements. 

  • Resourcing and Finance: You ensure the profitability and well-balanced resourcing of your clients and teams. You effectively map your strategic priorities and growth plans, secure the resources, communicate and deliver in a values-aligned way.

  • Innovation, Insight & Strategy: You stay on top of best practice and emergent trends within digital marketing, client industries, and regularly bring insight to team and clients. You deliver impactful measurement and strategy, surfacing ideas, innovations, hypotheses and recommendations for Empower and our clients.

  • Marketing: Via external marketing you are a respected face of Empower, generating trust and respect for your expertise and values-driven approach.
