The Brief

Empower’s partnership with Business for Nature began in 2020.

As a global coalition that brings together business and conservation organisations and forward-thinking companies, Business for Nature required an agency that could seamlessly embed into their team to manage and deliver social media and digital communications. As nature has climbed up in the sustainability agenda, our relationship has evolved into an embedded strategic support partner for the team.

The Challenge

As a long-term partner agency, our challenge is twofold. 

Firstly, our role is to ensure Business for Nature remains ahead of the digital curve, and continues to reach targeted and regional audiences with messaging that leads to real-world nature action. 

Secondly, we use insight, intelligence and evaluation to spot and identify potential trends that will drive Business for Nature’s future campaigning and communications.

The Approach

We fully immersed ourselves in Business for Nature’s values, goals and tone of voice to deliver effective and quality services.

We’ve learned how the organisation operates and have grown confident in navigating nature-specific nuances in the sustainability world. We’ve covered topics including nature strategies, environmentally harmful subsidies, making the business case for nature, the Global Biodiversity Framework and the UN Biodiversity COP summits.

From social media management involving reactive and strategic planning across all digital channels, to strategic and digital optimisation through reporting – we’ve taken a holistic approach to elevate Business for Nature’s digital presence – using new platforms, trends and tactics to deliver maximum impact on social media.

We have jointly built an open, trusting partnership based on creative innovation and growth and have improved joint ways of working over the course of our relationship. 

This has allowed us to support Business for Nature as the world increasingly recognises the role of protecting and restoring nature in meeting the world’s climate goals.

Being a reliable and forward-looking partner has propelled our collaboration into new areas of work. This includes creative development involving producing a suite of creative assets for the launch of a set of new policy recommendations, including an animated video used in PR, paid social, website, email and organic social, as well as SEO and website creation for the It’s Now for Nature campaign.
